A transparent corner viewing section in the wall of a residential swimming pool in Munich, Germany — a 120 mm cast PMMA panel supplied in 2018, with a client update received in 2026.

In 2018, PG Acrylic supplied a transparent acrylic pool wall — a 120 mm cast PMMA panel — for the corner section of a residential swimming pool in Munich, Germany. Eight years later, in 2026, the client sent a short on-site video showing the pool still in use. This page records what is confirmed about that installation and the 2026 update.

2018 — THE PROJECT

A transparent wall on a private pool in Munich, Germany

The project was a residential swimming pool in Munich, Germany. A transparent section was required in the pool wall so that the water and the swimmers inside could be seen from outside the pool. The opening runs around a corner of the pool, so the transparent section is a corner viewing configuration rather than a single flat face.

PG Acrylic scope on this project: supply of the cast acrylic (PMMA) viewing panel — a 120 mm panel, made to the opening, the 1.4 m water depth and the support conditions of this pool. The panel thickness recorded here is a fact about this installation, not a recommended thickness for other pools; how pool wall thickness and the panel-to-structure interface are actually specified is covered on the acrylic pool wall design and interface guide.

ABOUT THIS REFERENCE

What this single project does — and does not — prove

The 2026 update reflects the reported condition of this specific installation. Panel design, thickness and long-term performance depend on the dimensions, water depth, support arrangement, installation conditions and maintenance of each project. It is one project's outcome, not a general durability guarantee for all acrylic pool walls.
